GPR Concrete Rebar Scanning

When installing overhead line electrification (OLE) foundations one of the most challenging locations is a bridge. The majority of bridges have no original design specification, blue-prints or fabrication sheets. As a result, the client can be unaware where rebar is positioned without further investigation.

An OLE foundation requires four holes for the structure to be anchored to. If one of the four holes hits rebar, then the whole structure has to be repositioned. If rebar is continously being hit whilst drilling for anchor and cantilever positions then there can be significant increases in cost and time. The templates for OLE can be repositioned within 30 cm of the original proposed location along the track but are not allowed to go over the track.
